She accepted a position at Young Harris College in 1966 where she remained until she retired in 1997. Sellers published several works of poetry including Wild Ginger. She was named author of the year by the Dixie Council of Authors and Journalists in 1979. Sellers died on May 17, 2013, at the age of 87 in Hayesville, NC.
