Between March and June 2020 some members of the Friends of Nottinghamshire Archives and their associates took part in a diary-writing project which became known as '100 Days to Save the World'. The project brief if such a thing existed, was for contributors to record simple, factual reflections of how they were living at that time - what they were doing, thinking and feeling - as opposed to what might appear in official reports or other less personal or ephemeral media. All the diaries, to a greater or lesser extent, conveyed the anxiety of these few months of 2020, but they also, again to a greater or lesser extent, dealt with the day-to-day trials and tribulations of ‘lockdown living’. They did so with humour and patience, and even a touch of curiosity as the writers explored new ways of shopping, keeping in contact with friends and family, and alternative sources of entertainment. This book is a collection of extracts from those diaries.
