When unlucky gambler Glenn Walker gets into debt he is forced to do Lombard Wood’s bidding, a task that becomes even more onerous when he is sent to his hometown to find out why Lombard’s gambling house is no longer profitable. Before he can even begin investigating, the keeper of the Luckier Streak, Oswald Moore, warns him that he’ll be killed if he crosses him. With no way to complete his mission Glenn’s problems grow when his friend Stirling Evanston kills a man and is thrown in jail. Glenn sets out to prove that Stirling had good cause, but when Oswald Moore becomes involved he will need to confront an event that happened when he and Stirling were youngsters, a dark secret that he had hoped would never be revealed.
