Smith obtained a Journalism degree from the University of Arkansas and currently resides with her husband in Northwest Arkansas after spending many years in Kentucky and Tennessee. Melanie Hewins is a teacher, artist, and a lover of books. She owns Imagine Studios in Rogers, Arkansas where she spends her days teaching and creating all kinds of art. Hewins holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri. She has long dreamed of illustrating children's books and is happy to be fulfilling her childhood dream.
