Patrick David Morales Vasquez Vegas has led a very influential life. Born in Fresno, California, on March 17, 1941, he rose from truly humble beginnings to become part of the storied history of Rock 'n' Roll as the cofounder of the first Native American rock band, Redbone. Further, Pat's musical talents helped create a wave of unique sounds which has influenced Funk, Rock, Swamp Rock, Disco, and even House Music. "Lucky Patrick: How a Native Kid From Fresno Changed the World" was crafted as an “Honor Book” created by Mojave High School and Shadow Ridge School Art and Media Students in Hesperia Unified School District, Hesperia, California. Much of the artwork is student created and capture the essence of Pat's historically important life as a proud Native American. This unique children's story will be enjoyed and cherished for generations to come. It includes an interactive section at the end for students to display their artistic talent and record their thoughts about Pat's historic life.
