Guru Nanak, the first Sikh guru has revealed to us the nature of the infinite truth in the Mool Mantra. An all-loving, inclusive, non-judgmental—God who does not demand compliance with meaningless rituals and ordinances using rewards and punishments. Nanak’s spiritual message can be summarized as a doctrine of liberation from suffering with kindness and compassion through disciplined meditation on God-consciousness. Mool Mantra can unite and facilitate cooperation among people of all beliefs. Nanak started common community kitchens where everyone without exclusion could share a meal, break bread and participate in selfless service to the benefit of all humanity. Mool Mantra—the spiritual path to God guides us that service to man is service to God. It is the first step on the spiritual path to God. The fundamental beliefs Nanak articulated include faith and meditation on God—the one creator; unity of all humankind, engaging in selfless service, striving for social justice for the benefit and prosperity of all; and honest conduct and livelihood while living a householder’s life. Nanak practiced what he preached equality and showed a spiritual way to God available to all humanity, to unite people of all religions and belief systems to live and let live forever with contentment and compassion. Mool Mantra The Spiritual Path To God By: Paul Kalra Reviewed By: Harshita Ashwani Bloggist: Mantra - The Mūl Mantar is the opening verse of the Sikh scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. It consists of twelve words which are almost known by all but understood by few. The author begins the book with these golden words and the in depth meaning of each word. I being from a Sindhi family, who follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji found it to be a major readon to choose this book to read. Having read the first chapter I realized that this is what one needs to read. We all must have heard about One God but do we actually know how he is or why do we and many more questions. The concept of reality and God is very well explained by the author. I would say this is the first book in which I loved each and every line and each and every chapter because of the path it showed me. The book is based on the superior of all, The God. How can one find him? How can one change to attain peace? How one needs to identify the path that leads to God? All of these questions have just one answer that is this book, Mool Mantra. I would like to share a line from the book that touched me. Books have been written, but God cannot be written. I haven't heard a better truth than this. We believe in books but all we need to do is to believe in the Almighty. Guru Nanak's teachings are a way to beautiful life. I believe spiritual life is what one needs rather than a fake materialistic life. At last I would like to thank the author for such an amazing book. It changed my way of thinking about God and Life. Talking about the book, the length was enough to keep you engaged and love it. I took a little more time reading it as I was able to relate my life and think about it. Each and every chapter has it's own uniqueness. Overall it was the best read ever. Would highly recommend this book to my loved ones and my readers!!! Mool mantra the spiritual path to God by Paul Kalra - Reviewed by Siddhi Palande Bloggist "You will be purified only if you are prepared to be annihilated," writes author Paul Kalra in his latest book, Mool mantra the spiritual path to God. This spiritual nonfiction is only about 160 pages long and spread across 10 chapters. In these 10 chapters, Kalra discusses and delves into the Mool Mantra - Ek Onkar. He tells us how all encompassing this word Onkar is and throughout he shows us the path to God. Attaining God or Godliness is no mean feat. To reach a level of calmness and understanding takes a lot out of you. Infact it requires you to start looking inward. It is only when you have annihilated the 5 vices- lust, wrath, greed, attachment and ego - from within you, you will come a step closer to meeting God. About Mool Mantra, the author explains, "The Mool Mantra described the attributes of God as one absolute reality, ever true, only doer, one creator, fearless, all loving nonjudgmental, transcends time, without birth or beginning, self-existent and self-illuminating reality. These are attributes of our universe and God is another name for the universal reality." God may have different names, we may divide ourselves into different sects and castes, but it all comes down to worshipping one ultimate reality which is HIM. The day we understand this our spiritual journey begins. And this journey isn't an easy one. It is wrought with the vices we discussed above. And it may look uncomplicated to
