Machine Milking, Volume 1 comprises the first of a planned series on the science and practice of mechanical milking of dairy animals. This volume explores and explains interactions between the physical forces developed within a milking machine, the physical and biological responses of teats to milking, and the influence of the milking machine on new mastitis infection rates. Recommendations and guidelines are based on the authors’ interpretation of current scientific knowledge combined with their extensive experience about what appears to work successfully in commercial practice.
