A Coloring Book filled with 33 of my sketches of wonderful Pekingese Dogs against backgrounds that include Chinese Dragons and Goddesses, Foo Dogs, Exotic Palaces, Temples and Gardens. The surest way to a Chinese Emperor's heart was to present him with a Dog whose value was only second to that of the precious pearl, the Chinese symbol of that wisdom which is so rare and unattainable. The little lion-hearted Pekingese Dog gained imperious sway over the supreme rulers of China's many hundreds of millions, keeping its court in the Imperial Palace itself, in the very heart of the Forbidden City. For thousands of years none but the most privileged persons of the royal court ever set eyes on these little Dogs. Only 160 years ago this past April, the United Kingdom's Queen Victoria received one of the first Pekingese Dogs which were presented to diplomats and brought out of the vastness of China to grace our own lives and enjoy their special bond with people all over the World. My own three Pekingese Dogs and those of friends have been my models in creating these sketches for you to color. Whether you prefer to use colored pencils, markers or paint, take advantage of this world of inspiration and artistic fulfillment. An opportunity for adults and even older children who love to color to relax, reduce stress and gain enjoyable exercise for the brain as you concentrate on the creation of color for each image. Pekingese Dogs come in many different coat colors and of course, Dragons are able to change color at will . . . enjoy!
