Make Way for the Auditor is a work in 5 volumes written by a colonial civil servant who served in 4 countries for a total of almost 30 years, from 1935 to 1964. In the introduction, he says that "These memoirs attempt to give a view of the colonial system from the inside and to give the 'feel' of it." Part 1, this volume, provides an introduction and covers his time in The Gold Coast, now known as Ghana. Parts 2 to 5 cover his time in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia), British Honduras (Belize) and Kenya.
