The Hillmon and Earls Family Reunion has been held on Pawpaw’s and Momo's farm in Mississippi for over forty years. This year, so many of their relatives have dedicated the time to come and make new memories together. It is a chance for the young kids to meet and get to know their aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members. But it is also a time for the family to celebrate stories of their shared heritage and culture firsthand from their elders. This year, Momo shares a story describing how her grandmother, Mama Bernice, who was a slave, escaped to freedom by way of the Underground Railroad using a not-so-ordinary map.
