Includes a new, original Latin translation by Joseph Ward Medhurst. Marcus Aurelius was the great philosopher emperor of the Roman empire. his philosophical work s were never intended to be published, but were done so immediatley upon his death and have inspired generations. His original writing was in Greek, and many English translations have been carried out over the years. Here for the first time as well as including the English and Greek versions, have added my own Latin translation, allowing this to be of assistance and greater relevance to linguists, philosophers and ancient historians alike. The Greek text belongs to Jan Hendrick Leopold (1865-1925) and was published in his work: Marcus Aurelius. M. Antonius Imperator Ad Se Ipsum. Jan Hendrik Leopold. in aedibus B. G. Teubneri. Leipzig, Germany. 1908. Available on http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A2008.01.0641. The English translation is by George Long (1800-1879), who translated the text in 1862 and published it in: The Thoughts of the Emperor M. Aurelius Antoninus. London, England: George Bell & Sons. Macfait, Ebenezer.
