Marion Hedgepeth was born near the small, central Missouri town of Prairie Home. He had his first run-in with the law at the age of fifteen, which eventually led to his incarceration in the state penitentiary. When Hedgepeth emerged from prison in 1889, he had to choose the path he would follow -- walk the straight-and-narrow, or continue a life of crime. He chose the latter and, within three years, Marion Hedgepeth became one of the nation's most notorious outlaws.
