Discharged Iraq War veteran Ranger Shawn Kaan returns to the U.S. and attempts to forget the war experience that haunts him. He and his young wife Amy immediately embark on a long awaited winter adventure into Canada on snowmobiles. Numerous, unexpected hurdles are encountered along the way and after they arrive at the quaint town that serves as their base, it only gets worse; there is danger lurking in the winter wonderland. Ritz, M.Ed. is a retired Technology Education teacher of 35 years and lives with his wife in Pennsylvania. He is intrigued by all things mechanical and holds a United States Utility Patent. He has been a long time member of a local sports car club, as well as several snowmobile clubs, and has always been interested in any and all forms of motor sports. He and his wife, Diana, first rode snowmobiles in 1971 during their honeymoon at a mountain resort in western Pennsylvania. Since the late 1970's they have been avid snowmobiler's riding every winter there is enough snowfall, and traveling to other northern states and Canada in pursuit of the "perfect" snowmobile ride. They often rode with friends in the beautiful southwestern New York region of Chautauqua County. The cover photograph was taken by Gene in that region. Gene has written numerous articles for a professional technology education magazine in the past, but this is his first novel.
