Born in Modena in 1932, Franco Gozzi has been the man that more than any other has known Enzo Ferrari and his Firm,. A degree in law, he seemed to start off on a bank career when, in 1960, he met Enzo Ferrari, and became his spokesman and his advisor; in one word, his confidant. From 1960, he held several roles at Ferrari: he was editorial consultant, press officer, and head of external relations before becoming sporting director from 1968 to 1970.During this latter period, the company added several titles to its list of victories, including the European Hill Climb Championship (1969), the Temporada Argentina (1969), and the 12 Hours of Sebring (1970). In Formula 1, he achieved only a few victories in individual Grands Prix with Jacky Ickx and Clay Regazzoni. He remained in Ferrari until his retirement. He passed away in 2013.
