After his best friend died in gang violence, Meow Man took his first job on a tugboat in Baltimore harbor and never looked back. Working hard saved his life and gave him the purpose and independence he was looking for. By the age of 19, he earned his master's license of 200 ton uninspected towing vessels and later upgraded to a 1600 ton master's license with celestial oceans endorsement. Throughout his professional maritime career as an ocean tugboat captain, from New England to the Gulf of Mexico and Puerto Rico, Meow Man taught by example with courage and hard work but always combined humor with his leadership.
