Originally from Newport News, Virginia, Dr. Norman Goldwasser is a clinical psychologist in Miami Beach, Florida. He earned Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology and Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology summa cum laude from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.Trained as a cognitive-behavioral psychologist, his primary focus of treatment and writings has been in the field of trauma. He is widely regarded as an expert in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), having been a clinician, consultant, and trainer over the past 30 years.He is an internationally known speaker on various topics including child sexual trauma, marital issues, educational psychology, positive psychology, and spirituality. He has consulted with more than 100 businesses, law and medical practices, hospitals, and educational institutions throughout his career. More recently, he has volunteered in Israel to treat trauma victims, soldiers, and their families and to train therapists to use EMDR.Dr. Goldwasser's first book, Breaking the Mirror: Overcoming Narcissism-How to Conquer Self-Centeredness and Achieve Successful Relationships, has received much critical acclaim.
