The “Miracle in The Cow Pasture” is the story of Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise, Texas. It’s a story of God doing something extraordinary through a group of ordinary people who came together around a common goal; to inspire and equip people to know and follow Jesus. As a result of what God has done in and through the Grace Fellowship family, thousands of lives have been changed and thousands more are being changed today. Pastor BJ Rutledge has served on staff in some of the largest churches in America but in 2004, God called him to do something totally unexpected. At the age of 50, God led him to leave a mega-church in The Woodlands, Texas, to become the first pastor of a start-up church in a rural setting in North Texas. The first part of this book takes you on a journey through the foundational years of Grace Fellowship as a group of people prayed big and stepped out in faith believing God wanted to do something unique and different in their rural setting. BJ shares some of the ups and downs that took place in the early years of the church and shares his personal story of how God prepared him to become the pastor of Grace Fellowship. In the second part of the book BJ explains some of the key things he learned and is still learning, along with some observations he believes were instrumental in helping the Grace Fellowship family accomplish their God-given vision and mission. In this Second Edition the author has added a number of photos and some additional stories. In addition, Chris Hurst has written a portion of the epilogue sharing the amazing things that have happened at Grace Fellowship in the past couple of years. In the midst of a culture in chaos, God is still doing miraculous things in places people least expect it.
