He is conducting a major investigation into the impacts of forest management on moose and other wildlife in the forests of northern Ontario, to develop guidelines for the future management of the forests to sustain and promote healthy wildlife populations. In 1995 Art Rodgers undertook the world's first major wildlife research project to be based on Global Positioning System technology, by using GPS collars to track moose in northwestern Ontario.
