Mount Fugue explores how stories get told to us - through the news, through art, through bits of conversation, and through conjecture. J.I. Daniels pieces together the story of a tragic mountain-climbing expedition through different mediums and voices. This expedition is a historic one; it is the first led by a woman and a Latina. As Daniels tries uncover the truth about what really happened up there, we discover along the way that the reality is less of a singular Truth and more of a combination of truths. JI Daniels is the author of MOUNT FUGUE (KERNPUNKT Press, 2016), a board member for Writers @ Work, a fiction editor for Quarterly West and a PhD Candidate at the University of Utah. His fiction has appeared, among other places, in Lunch Ticket, Rawboned, Words Apart, Far Enough East, Juked, Southwest Review and Printer's Row.
