It is a complete description of this ancient Chinese art of movement, including chapters on form (meditative movements), Push Hands (two person exercise), Kung-fu (self defense), healing and the evolution of the human mind. Movements of Magic describes how this ancient system of health, meditation, healing, self defense and personal development can be used practically in your everyday life. It is unique in its approach, vibrant in its analysis, stimulating and refreshing. This book may completely change your life for the better. It allows you to see the world through "ancient eyes" and learn how to heal yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually even if you are not specifically interested in practicing Tai-chi. This is a book you will keep close by your side and consult for the rest of your life. Movements of Magic has become the main stabilizing foundation in the lives of thousands of people over the last quarter century. Bob Klein began studying Eastern philosophy, healing and martial arts in 1966. He received his Tai-chi-Chuan teaching certificate from Grandmaster William C. C. Chen in 1975 and began his "Long Island School of Tai-chi-Chuan" in Sound Beach, where he has been teaching ever since. He has also apprenticed with natural healers from other cultures such as Celtic and Native American and was taught Hebrew philosophy from an early age. Mr. Klein was a teacher of zoology from 1970 to 1990, presenting ecological programs in many schools throughout the Northeast. He also was one of the early promoters of captive breeding of rare animals and maintains a breeding collection of several species of reptiles to this day. He was attracted to Tai-chi-Chuan because it is based on animal movements. He is also the author of "Movements of Power" and has produced 60 instructional videos on Tai-chi and related health, healing and martial arts subjects. Mr. Klein is also the head of a system of chi-gung which he translates at "Zookinesis" (animal exercises).
