With a veracious foreword by Omari Hardwick, Amorette “Epiphany” Lormil debuts her first poetry collection Muppy . Muppy began as a series of love poems to Broward County, the jungle that made her. It then evolved into a concatenation of stories derived from the journey of foot to pavement. Muppy is everything and nothing. It reflects the human experience somewhere between Hillsboro Blvd and County Line. Only the real can relate. About the author Amorette “Epiphany” is a native of Broward County, FL and South Florida based spoken word artist and activist that wears multiple hats from arts educator to audio engineer to organizer. She finds that art is where the heart is. Her heart often leads her to turn any conversation into a classroom. She’s taught in public schools, youth foster homes, and juvenile detention centers finding that the balance between both formal and informal community spaces keeps her grounded. Epiphany writes about love, life, and the black experience in between. Published in the June edition of the Poetry Magazine by the Poetry Foundation, Southern Women’s Review, & commissioned by the Pro Football Hall of Fame for her works.
