The writings in this collection come mainly from the author’s years blogging on Moristotle & Co. (2006 to 2023). The writings are assembled loosely in categories such as: Thinking, In and Outside the Box ; Being a Member of a Community ; Belonging to a Family ; Reading and Viewing ; and many more . The writings abound in deep introspections about belief in God, doubting that God exists, and not knowing for sure. They respect the sanctity of all living creatures. They express deep feelings of both sadness and joy. There is frequent laughter. There are many poems in several forms: limericks, sonnets, sestinas. There are interviews of fascinating people and reviews of exceptional books and movies and TV series. Also included from much earlier years are short stories, an unfinished parody of President Nixon’s second term, and accounts of the author’s seemingly mystical experiences. Morris Dean’s maxim seems to be that a day without a new idea is like a day without sunshine.
