Each of us has an earliest memory and that isolated memory is very much unique and different for each and every one of us. And from that moment on, each and every one of us begins to build a library of memory. That is what this book is composed of—Isolated memories taken from our great collection or bank of memory, if you will, which began around ages three or four. Let us focus here on our voluntary memories—memories we have without trying or choosing . In our personal library of memory each memory is unique, and what each of us remembers is different in reality and in detail. Why, why, why . . . why do we each remember different encounters, different details about the very same event? Just as our fingerprints differ, so, too, do our memories. This collection intends to focus on unique memories selected by our writers, memories that stay with us, memories that are just there. Memories that—as long as we live and our minds are intact—will always be ours no matter how old we become. In this collection focusing on memory, we ask—what is some one thing, occurrence, incident, happening, thought, dream, et cetera , et cetera that, as long as you live, you’ll never forget? In this collection, each writer shares just such memories.
