About this item: Pacific blue alternates with white on this handcrafted cotton shawl to evoke dawn flowers. Aftab works in the ancient Rajasthani dabu print technique to craft a beautiful shawl. Printing blocks are dipped in a mixture of mud, which is stamped onto the cloth to create the motifs. When dry, the fabric is dipped in a bath of indigo dye, thus dabu is known as a mud resist print. Because of their handcrafted nature, no two dabu prints are ever identical.Hand wash separately in cold waterTumble dry on low heatHand-crafted item -- color, size and/or motif may vary slightly
About our Artist: Hi friends! I am Aftab, from the Pink City of India, Jaipur. I am a very hardworking and honest person of strong determination. Since my hood days, I was amazed by the beauty of hand block-printed patterns. As I grew up, my father taught me these techniques. Once I mastered this craft, I came to Jaipur and joined an art and handicraft company. We all work together to achieve our goal of making beautiful designs. We have participated in many international and national fairs. We generally use wooden blocks carved with the desired designs, which are then used for printing with dyes. My dream is to start my own workshop someday, where I can teach a lot of people who love this art, preserving its beauty.
