About our Artist: Tina Quaye is a descendant of the Ga Mashie royal family, but when she was just three weeks old her father died. To cope with a difficult financial time Tina taught reading classes while she trained in auto spraying. She also worked at a textiles company during the week and at the weekends she made beaded jewelry. 'I've always been interested in working with under privileged as I too suffered many hardships as a . I started a program called ' in Need' in 1996, and I started teaching them our traditional bead making crafts. My designs are influenced by Ghana's varied cultural and artistic traditions, of which I've become an expert.'...
