Review of Negotiating like lives are on the line Post by Zee_Zee » 01 Dec 2022, 03:46 [Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Negotiating like lives are on the line" by Jonathan Pultz.] 5 out of 5 stars Share This Review Negotiating Like Lives Are on the Line by Jonathan Pultz is a non-fictional book with lessons on handling crises and crazy scenarios better through perfect negotiation. Have you ever had issues with people at your workplace or social organization that left you utterly bereft of what to do or how to tackle them? This book is what you need, as the writer takes the reader by the hand to explain step-by-step skills needed in negotiations. Jonathan Pultz wrote this book like a how-to guide. Each chapter focused on a specific negotiation skill. He explained and drove home each skill's application to the reader. The explanations were straight to the point, using real and hypothetical scenarios to break them down further. Most of the actual scenarios he used were his personal experiences. It helped me understand the concept better. Seeing that a particular thing had been experienced by the writer built trust and made me see the writer as not trying to mislead me. When using some practical examples, the writer carefully included his candid thoughts. For instance, in his mention of the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees to explain the use of the term BATNA (best alternative to a negotiated agreement), he was careful to mention his actual stand while respecting other people's opinions. He also did this when he mentioned "Pawn Stars'' while explaining the significance of pauses. Negotiating Like Lives Are on the Line features short and precise chapters, which is suitable for anyone with a short attention span. The chapters that are longer than the others are because the author needs to shed more light on the concepts being explained. This, on its own, is done carefully in a way that doesn't bring in an overlapping of concepts. The book's central theme was the author's focus. He did not veer off, and the reader would learn many lessons. Reading this book would seem like taking an online course on negotiations due to the in-depth knowledge the writer offered on the skills needed in negotiation. These skills would help the reader in negotiations and other life scenarios. Negotiating Like Lives Are on the Line was a beautiful read. I loved everything, from the skills it taught me to their practical applications. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone on a career path requiring a lot of negotiations. Negotiating Like Lives Are on the Line was professionally edited, as I only found one error. Therefore, I'd rate it five out of five stars . ****** Negotiating like lives are on the line View: on Bookshelves
