As of the writing of this book, Steve Rains has summited 194 mountains in northwest Montana and one in Idaho, and hiked in the neighborhood of 2000 miles. Not one to necessarily have climbed the tallest or most popular peak in the area, he would rather search out some remote mountain that most people have never heard of, and, if it is difficult to get to, that much the better. When not out there trying to get to the top of something, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, and driving really fast!
