The editor and contributing author of this book, Ruben Krisztal, is an attorney with more than 16 years of experience in litigating nursing home cases. Equally telling, however, is the range and depth of experience of the other 16 contributing authors--not all of whom are lawyers. Ruben J. Krisztal, Esq., is the author of the chapter "Investigation and Pretrial Considerations" in Nursing Home Litigation: Investigation and Case Preparation, edited by Patricia Iyer. Mr. Krisztal came to the United States from Argentina in 1967. He has been practicing law for over twenty years and has been litigating nursing home cases for more than fifteen years. He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He is board certified in civil trial advocacy from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been a guest speaker at numerous regional and national conferences, educating attorneys and the public. He has authored numerous articles regarding this subject. Mr. Krisztal is a member of Kansas City Metropolitan, Johnson County, Wyandotte County, Leavenworth County and Kansas Bar Associations; Kansas Trial Lawyers Association (board of governors; Kansas state delegate for ATLA); eagles member of KTLA Executive Committee. He is also a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and is active in the Nursing Home Litigation Group. Mr. Krisztal is a fellow of the Kansas Bar Association and a member of MATA. His practice is nationwide.
