Functions: Monitors the oil output pressure of the engine's main oil gallery/oil pump to ensure sufficient lubrication of all engine components.

It ensures oil is delivered to all parts requiring lubrication and heat dissipation, such as the crankshaft, camshaft, and piston.

Converts oil pressure into an electrical signal and transmits it to the engine control unit (DME).

If the pressure is too low, the ECU will immediately issue an alarm to protect the engine from severe wear caused by insufficient lubrication (e.g., cylinder scoring, bearing seizure).

Fault Manifestations: Warning light illuminates: The instrument panel shows "Low Oil Pressure" or "High Engine Temperature" warnings, possibly accompanied by a beeping sound.

Abnormal engine noise: Insufficient lubrication increases friction between components like pistons and bearings, producing metal friction sounds or cylinder knock.

Power loss and protection: When the ECU detects abnormal pressure, it limits engine speed or power to prevent further damage.

Causes of Damage:  Aging, water ingress, high temperature, or mechanical vibration leading to internal circuit open circuits or short circuits.

Worn, oxidized wiring harnesses, or loose connectors causing signal interruption.

Clogging of the oil pressure sensor's sensing port by dust or oil, affecting pressure detection.
