My running career consists of three periods: the Jurassic, the dormant, and the late-bloomer eras. Much like the dinosaurs, my Jurassic period ended abruptly. With the exception of an ill-fated 5K, the dormant period was marked by inactivity. Spurred on by my wife and son, at the age of fifty-two, I entered the late-bloomer era to take up a quest to complete a half marathon. On Eagles' Wings: A Runner's Story chronicles that quest. I invite you to follow my quest that began with a humbling first run with my wife of just over a mile and includes falls and failures, joys and successes, and deep personal growth as I strived to achieve my goal. My story is more than about running, though. It is about my life, my relationships, my dreams and aspirations, and ultimately about not giving up and staying true to my quest.
