This book is written by two award-winning instructors. Ken Rand and Kim Thomas met at an educational conference in Chicago, where Kim received her Illinois Teacher of the Year award. After a short but fruitful conversation, they quickly discovered that their teaching philosophies of connecting and engaging students were remarkably similar. They decided to continue their discussions and soon collaborated on what they hoped would be the definitive book on "how to teach." Ken Rand, who recently retired after 47 years of teaching, has won numerous 'Teacher of the Year' awards and was nominated as one of the top 100 instructors in the United States. Ken's experiences include teaching at a variety of grade levels, from junior high school through four-year universities and from inner-city schools to suburban school districts. Ken was also an editor and author for Creative Publications. Ken's other book, "One Student at a Time: A Teacher's Journey" is an Amazon bestseller and won 1st place at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Book Festival.
