This slide should not be used for a fixed base or pedestal style table. The slide consists of a series of parallel boards that are able to slide back and forth on smooth joinery with a male and female butterfly notch. There are 8 pre-drilled holes per slide for table top installation and a built-in rack and pinion to ensure smooth and equal extension. This type of slide develops a camber to compensate for sagging in the center of the table when the leaves are inserted. Mounting screws are not included.
