World War III has ended, and the United States came out on top. The southern states were wiped out and considered uninhabitable with no electricity, internet, or infrastructure, so the government evacuated all the citizens and moved them to the inhabitable states. But two teenagers, Johnny and Aimee, stayed behind to scratch out a living in the North Carolina mountains. Together, they find struggles and hardships, but they also find freedom and an independent lifestyle they can’t give up. Most importantly, they have each other every single day, and nothing can tear them apart.
