Unlike trays that are made from glued together pieces, Acaciaware will not crack or split along a glue seam. Acacia wood is durable and long-lasting. Acaciaware is a hard wood, harder than oak. Pacific Merchant’s classic wooden classic serving trays will not crack or fall apart like other tray makers, who sell acacia wood serving trays by gluing strips or little pieces of acacia wood together, which is called lamination. If a glued laminated tray is placed into the dishwasher, the heat will melt the glue and the tray falls apart. This will not happen to a Pacific Merchants serving tray or large charcuterie serving tray. Our wooden serving trays are not dishwasher safe but if you accidentally put one in the dishwasher, it will not fall apart. Acaciaware is easy to care for!
