In 1959 the United States Army came up with an idea to put a base on the Moon. It was decided to do a more detailed report. The report was done in parts (books), this is book 1 of 2 and is the summary and supporting considerations. Volume II covers technical considerations and plans. Originally classified as "Secret" it is now available to the public. Remember, this base was proposed before President Kenedy told the world about his plan to send people to the moon
