History

Legends dating back to the early 1800s say that Saint Bernards rescue dogs (belonging to Monks) would carry small kegs on their collars when they went off to rescue lost travelers high in the Swiss Alps near the border between Italy and Switzerland. The booze inside, such as whisky, rum or brandy, would help to rejuvenate the weak and weary travelers for their journey home.
