A small [7 x 7] photographic collection of 80 black and white candid portraits done between 1982 - 1993, while Stage worked for a weekly entertainment tabloid in St. Louis. Subjects range from street people to working stiffs to the famous and notorious including Sir Edmund Hillary, Queen Ida, Robert Mapplethorpe, Jerry Seinfeld, Whitey Herzog and Dick Gregory. Text is limited to an introduction and captions which notate name, occupation, place where photographed and year of photographic exposure. Beautiful, high-quality images printed on a six-color Man Roland Model 500 Offset Press. A journalist and photographer since 1982, Wm. Stage has interviewed and photographed thousands of people from every walk of life. He has taught photojournalism at St. Louis Univeristy's School for Professional Studies. He is an alumnus of the week-long photojournalism workshop, offered by the University of Missouri-Columbia's School of Journalism and held in a different Missouri town every year since 1946.
