INCLUDES: 2 Oz (56.7 g) of Food Grade Potassium Sorbate Potassium Sorbate is a commonly used preservative (or stabilizer). It can be used in winemaking and home brewing to avert re-fermentation after racking, and it maybe used in other food recipes to prolong food shelf life. WINEMAKING / BREWING: Use it before racking or bottling wine, cider, mead, and hard seltzers to avert re-fermentation in the bottle (stabilizer). Useful when backsweetening. Note that this product will not stop active ongoing fermentation, instead it will shut any re-fermentation after racking or bottling. Use 0.5 - 0.75 g / Gal. COOKING: Use it as a preservative and prolong shelf life of many food recipes. Use it in cheese, dips, yogurt, sour cream, bread, cakes, pies and fillings, baking mixes, doughs, icings, fudges, toppings, beverages, margarine, salads, fermented and acidified vegetables, olives, fruit products, dressings, smoked and salted fish, confections and mayonnaise. Re-packaged in Canada by CAPYBARA Distributors Inc. Potassium Sorbate, the potassium salt of sorbic acid, is a commonly used preservative in food. This ingredient is used to protect food from spoilage and therefore prolong the food shelf life. Potassium sorbate functions as a wine stabilizer which isn’t added until the fermentation process is complete. It wont stop current fermenation but it will avert re-fermentation after racking.
