Why are we here? We have asked ourselves this question since the dawn of language, and today we are no closer to an answer. Many of us have learned to push this question aside and simply indulge in life’s pleasures. Others, like Rodolfo León, have become poets. Prayers for a New Millennium is a collection of poems, each of which rises and falls with the ecstasy and heartbreak of being alive. León’s words carry the reader through the thrill of passion, the pain of unrequited love, the mystery of death—and into the mind of God. Each line is infused with a sincere intensity that is barely contained by its meticulously constructed rhyme and rhythm. The words, like humanity, strive to transcend their form, igniting inspiration and delight within the reader’s mind. While perhaps not definitively answering all of humanity’s timeless questions, these poems provide a thoughtful, amusing, insightful glimpse into one man’s meditations and epiphanies. Whether you’re looking to change your personal outlook, get in touch with your spiritual side, or simply enjoy some exquisite poetry, fulfillment awaits within these pages. Rodolfo León has been committed to finding answers to life's pivotal existential questions since he was a child. During his time in college, he studied philosophy to learn about ideas, anthropology to learn about people, and linguistics to learn about the structures through which we express our thoughts. León went on to travel and reside in many different countries, allowing him to obtain a better understanding the intricacies of what it means to be human. When a life-changing accident limited his mobility, it provided him a long-awaited opportunity-and plenty of time-to organize and record his thoughts, ruminations, and epiphanies. In addition to Prayers for a New Millennium , León has also authored Unity in Diversity: A new dawn .
