After failing to prevent Magnus from returning Hati and Skoll to Midgard, Magni gives chase through the mechanical Bi-Frost in hopes of ending his campaign once and for all. Despite Janice’s lack of memory regarding Midgard and Melissa’s fear of returning, their mutual love for Devin compels them to make the journey. They must bring him home. Once in Midgard, they learn the terrible truth of Magnus’s goal and seek the wisdom of the Faye in hopes of derailing his schemes. Upon reaching Stone Glen, they find that Ceriph and Farthos have already called a War Council with the Trusted, tribal leaders of Midgard’s races, intent on recruiting them into an all-out war against the Jotun thus preventing another sign of Ragnarök. The final war between gods and giants. The knowledge of Magnus’s plans creates turmoil for Ceriph as he is forced to question the peace between the Alfarian and Dock-Alfar kingdoms. Magnus’s betrayal of Ceriph’s trust is not the only threat he faces as another seeks to usurp his throne. As Loki ushers the Jotun to war, Devin’s heroics in chasing down Hati and Skoll has persuaded Odin to take action. The Aesir return to Midgard.
