"The new Lady and The Tramp! A delightful fairy tale with a twist!"Princess & The Scoundrel is set in the 1950's in the small seaport town of Barisa Marina. A beautiful cheerleader dog called Princess falls in love with the new homeless dog in town referred to as "Scoundrel". All the female Maltese at El Capitan High School appear to be mesmerized with this mischievous male who seems like a true rebel without a cause. Princess's boyfriend, Fetch, the star quarterback, sets out with his football player buddies to drive the trouble maker out of town, but Princess will sacrifice everything, even her life, if need be, to save and unite with her supposed one true love.*Sample of Princess & The Scoundrel: Princess could hear the distant sound of a stream deeper within the woods. “Hi, Scoundrel,” she said cheerfully as she approached the boulders. He stood up on all fours, shaking his head in bewilderment as he looked down upon her from atop. “Can I come up?” she asked, scratching the ground with her right front toenails. She took a step forward and tripped over her paws. Embarrassed, she fell to the ground, but quickly recovered, untwisting her legs and making her way up to a standing position. “Sure...” He paused. “…sure. Princess can come up.” He smiled wryly, seemingly unsure of her motives. Mesmerized by the subtle flow of his voice that seemed musically in tuned with the sounds of the cicadas’ maniacal songs, she shook out her coat and tried to climb up the boulders, but half way up, her paw slipped. Scoundrel held out his front paws to her and she grasped them awkwardly. A charge of electricity shot through her form. This surprised her, but she liked the sensation. She felt shockingly moved. “Well, well, well,” He sang as he helped her up onto the rock beside him. “What are you doing out here, Princess?” She suddenly felt shy. “I…I…I just…um…I got in a fight with my mama and step-dad and wandered out here to get away.” “Did they do something bad to you?” he asked fiercely. A crazed look washed over his windblown, tangled face. Princess was touched at his concern, his protectiveness. “Oh, no, no, no…they didn’t do anything, really. I’m fine. I’m just upset because my mama and step-dad are angry with me because I told them I’m considering breaking up with Fetch. They’re good friends with his parents and they expected we’d get married after high school,” she said feeling frightened by her words. “Sometimes parents know best.” He took a long pause, looking up at the sky for a moment. “Sometimes things aren’t what they seem at all.” He gazed at her softly.Princess & The Scoundrel is acceptable and enjoyable for all ages. It has a fun 1950's vibe. With no curse words, this is an exciting, clean adventure romance.
