The rod features a lightweight 56 medium heavy IM7 graphite blank. The shorter rod gives young anglers more control but has enough backbone to land fish. The reel was specifically designed with a smaller profile that easily fits in the hands of young anglers. The smaller spool enables less line on the reel, which allows fixing backlashes easier for beginning anglers. The reel features a smooth 10 bearing system, 5.6:1 gear ratio, and an easily adjustable magnetic braking system.
