Only one will survive! Bill Henry is a brilliant lawyer from Boston who has won a case that threatens his very life. Boss Carter is a man of obsessive power and hate and will stop at nothing to destroy the man who ruined his empire. Bill Henry secretly escapes to the West, to his past...a past he had forsaken, and to which he swore he would never return. He finds more than he imagined...in many ways. Unknown to him, his enemy has tentacles reaching far and wide. Carter will stop at nothing in his quest for vengeance. The exciting first installment of the acclaimed Henry Family Chronicles! This book was an adventure in itself to write. My first book, it took 3 1/2 years and began with the realization of what Zig Ziglar said: "Most men go to their graves with their dreams still inside them."Never having written a book before, I just did what you need to do - I just sat down and started! I had tried writing books before that dealt with stuff I worked every day, but the thought of doing that in the evenings and in spare time sort of nauseated me. So, I decided to just write about something I liked. One afternoon I sat, started this book and wrote the first 25 pages in one sitting! After that, life got busy and I wrote in little snippets at various times. I started with the idea of a sweeping saga, but I got caught up in the story and the adventure and the creativity. I realized I had all the control and I could have anything - absolutely anything - happen! And it did! Afterwards, I added book 2 and 3 in the next year. Now book 4 is in final editing. I have gotten great response and one of the best is from a non-reader who says, "Mark, you're making a reader out of me - when is book 4 coming out?"The Henry Family Chronicles are a non-sequential series, and can be read in any order. My idol, of course, is Louis L'Amour and his Sackett family is the same in that you can read them in any order.Enjoy the ride! Mark Herbkersman spent his high school and college years in Idaho.
