Red Ripper pea Seeds
Large running vines yield 12” to 14” pods that are loaded with peas This heirloom has blood-red seeds and great flavor fresh or dried. 'Red Ripper' is prolific with pods that are reddish-green colored, about ten inches long and filled with up to eighteen red peas. Vining plants do best if some support is provided. The old-time method of planting in the corn field works as well. Does well even under hot and dry conditions. Good flavored table pea with 12 - 14 in. pods containing as many as 18 large peas per pod Use fresh or dried. Reddish-green pods are borne high and are easy to see in the foliage. Resistant to very hot, dry summers. Vigorous, sprawling vines. Very popular in Texas. Some list the history as dating back to the 1850s in North Carolina.
