Redmist synopsis This medical/science fiction dark thriller takes place ten years after Covid 19 when a young PhD candidate in virology accidently brings up a corona virus from the deep ocean. Within weeks it’s around the world causing another pandemic. This time people refuse mitigation measures, lockdowns and vaccine refusal, and governments capitulate meaning this time deaths are far higher! Due to people refusing the vaccines in general, the virus combines with another virus in a young man producing a chimera virus that rapidly spreads around the world. Virologists are baffled as such a marriage between those viruses should be impossible. Accusations abound on the internet and the halls of government. Was the chimera deliberately created as a depopulation effort? The chimera’s fatality rate is far higher for prepubescent children. There are no effective vaccines or antivirals available. This story follows the lives of some of the people affected by the pandemic: two nurses on the front lines, a Catholic priest, contact tracers, a blogger and the virologist. The race is on to find a cure before the pandemic causes an extinction level event.
