Have you ever had an extraordinary encounter with the Lord? When I was 17, I did! And it was in a most miraculous way. That singular experience was so phenomenal that it forever altered the course of my life. This encounter elevated my confidence, fortified my trust, and amplified my love for God, and it eternally cemented my walk with Jesus Christ. In 2003, I left Cameroon, my childhood home, for the United States. Although I was always surrounded by a large family, I grew up feeling lonely. Something was missing in my life. It was during those formative years that I first learned about God through the stories shared by my grandfather. Intrigued by these tales, I began to cultivate my special and very personal relationship with God. The purpose of this book is to share my journey and to testify to the goodness and faithfulness of God. It is my earnest prayer that you will find as much joy in reading this book as I got while recollecting it. May my story serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement to anyone who has lost hope or waivered in their faith in God. I have found that regardless of our circumstances, we are never too anything (broken, bad, or beaten) to seek God’s benevolent blessings. He will comfort and guide us. I am a living witness to that. Nothing is too great for God’s grace and mercy. His love is unfailing, His kindness is beyond comprehension, and He is attentive to the prayers of those who seek Him. According to my grandfather, God resided in the heavens above. Since He was in a special place, I designated a special place where I could converse with Him whenever I felt I needed to. Each time I sought comfort in prayer, I experienced a profound sense of peace and well-being. It was funny, I never felt alone when I talked to God. As the years passed, my bond with God deepened; He became my confidant, my comforter, and my companion. As we talked daily, I felt God’s unwavering love and experienced His grace and mercy in abundance. Dear reader, I have learned, as Peter said in Acts 10:34-35, “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” That is undeniably my experience and I know it can be yours too.
