This is the second series of DESIGN WISDOM IN SMALL SPACE. The five volumes are Clothing Shop, Coffee Shop, Sweet Shop, Bakeshop, and Restaurant. The latest design trends in these commercial spaces with small size are fully explored. This volume focuses on the design of small restaurants, particularly on how to deal with the constraint of the small size and provide a pleasant dining atmosphere: • 26 projects are selected, ranging from 30 to 100 square meters in floor area, categorized into two parts: theme restaurants and casual fast-food restaurants; • Each project is introduced in detail, including project background, design concept and design process; • Starting from the challenge, you will go through each project and find how the architects/designers found the solutions; • Lessons are to be learnt from the experience, including planning and layout design, style and atmosphere, and material selection and application. The book aims to provide interior designers and restaurant owners with more practical knowledge about small restaurant design. Joe Gentry graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture and a Bachelor of Philosophy degree, and then continued his studies to obtain a Master of Architecture degree. Currently a registered architect in Washington, he founded goc studio in 2012 and served as a project manager. It is well-known in the field of commercial space design and has achieved certain honors.
