Thou shalt not steal…except by majority vote! There were three kinds of Old Covenant prophets: pre-exilic, exilic, and post-exilic. None of them preached the Social Gospel, let alone liberation theology. This is the thesis of the volume, Restoration and Dominion . Old Testament prophets are invoked by Social Gospel promoters, who cannot find anything that Moses wrote that justifies theft at the ballot box. But the prophets sided with Moses. They proposed nothing like the Social Gospel. The Social Gospel has always been a fraud. Its promoters mislead people. Never are they further from the truth than when they argue that the prophets promoted principles of wealth-redistribution by way of politics. I end the Preface with these words: The modern Christian world has been deceived by pastors and theologians who are wolves in sheep's clothing. Their self-appointed task is to move Christian opinion in the direction of the humanist political Left. They have done this by selectively quoting from the prophets and then interpreting them by means of the humanist Left's political agenda. They ask this: What Would Jesus Steal? In the name of love, they recommend the creation of a welfare state that extracts four times to six times more than the tithe. Samuel warned Israel against a king, for the king would extract 10% of their production. Modern liberation theologians and Social Gospel promoters would regard such a king as a Right-wing Judas, who would reduce taxes on the rich by at least 75%. They would dismiss such a king as a front man for the Right, a king who would oppress the poor by imposing a flat tax. When you hear a call for “the economics of love,” start looking for the hidden gun. Christian love in this context can only be achieved through armed agents of the state showing up at men's doors to demand a large portion of their income--all in the name of justice. Ask yourself these three questions: 1. Where is the gun? 2. Who is holding the gun? 3. At whom is the gun pointed? The commandment is this: “Thou shalt not steal.” t is not this: “Thou shalt not steal, except by majority vote.” Some of the chapters include: The Remnant, Debasement and Its Effects, Prosperity with Idols, Restoring the Jubilee, Judicial Causation, Messianic Justice, Invoking the Mosaic Law, Non-Payment of Wages, Faith in the Future, Riches As a Snare, the Destruction of Wealth, Corrupt Riches, Private Property, Unjust Judges, Peace and Prosperity, Stealing from God. ----- This series, An Economic Commentary on the Bible , is published by Reconstructionist Radio , a producer and provider of Reformed (Postmillennial, Presuppositional, Covenantal, Calvinist, and Theonomic) Christian Reconstructionist podcasts, audiobooks, lectures, sermons, music, and other media.
