A mission they cannot fail. A threat they cannot outrun. A crew pushed to its breaking point. After proving themselves in battle, Captain Nick Hall and his elite crew aboard the Argos are sent on their most dangerous mission yet—hunting down the escaped leaders of the Red and Blue Arkon forces before they can rebuild their power and strike again. This time, failure is not an option. But the mission is far more complex than expected. Multiple factions, diplomatic red tape, and deadly new restrictions make every step a challenge. Worse still, the Arkons are armed with new technology that could obliterate the Argos and everything in its path. Outnumbered and outgunned, Nick and his crew must rely on stealth, strategy, and their unpredictable AI companion, Wizzy, to outmaneuver an enemy that never stops evolving. With each move, the stakes grow higher, the risks deadlier, and the line between victory and annihilation thinner than ever. Can the Argos complete its mission and eliminate the Arkon threat once and for all, or will this be their final battle? Packed with intense space battles, high-stakes espionage, strategic combat, and shocking twists, Retribution: Records of the Argos Book Two is a pulse-pounding military sci-fi thriller perfect for readers who love deep-space warfare, covert missions, and intergalactic intrigue. In Retribution: Records of the Argos Book 2 by Michael J. Farlow, Captain Hall is ordered to an area where Azel is the only planet suitable to live on. His mission is to collect intelligence on Azel in general. The ship Argos is presented as a ship trading in agricultural machinery and the captain has an adequate supply of rare materials such as gold to use as payment. They must keep their eyes open for General Gurko, an Arkon Red, and Berzalius, an Arkon Blue. These two are suspected of having been responsible for the disappearance of several ships in the area. The Tye Government and the Consortium want Gurko and Berzalius captured and returned for trial. An AI is helping Captain Hall and his crew with collecting intelligence. The AI uses a cartoon avatar of the young Albert Einstein when communicating with the crew. The plot in Retribution by Michael J. Farlow is complicated and exciting. There was so much information, but it never felt like too much to remember. The story is fast-paced and full of action. There was so much happening that I could not put it down. I was just turning the pages as fast as I could to see what was going to happen next. I was on the edge of my seat all the time with the twists and turns. The suspense made the story very powerful. The characters were excellently developed and were described in such a way that I could see what they looked like. They worked together as a team and complemented each other. AI was my favorite character and is so witty. I felt as if I was part of the crew in this sci-fi world. I enjoyed reading the story and being part of this story. Reviewed by Alma Boucher for Readers' Favorite 5 Stars In Retribution: Records of the Argos by Michael J. Farlow, expect space-tech savvy, and intuitive and strategic manipulation of events at every step ... The dialogue between the captain and the AI is most certainly entertaining ... Michael J. Farlow understands surveillance, armory, and robotic intelligence since his descriptions of these mechanisms are apt, but he harmoniously wraps them up in a plausible yet adventurous way. Reviewed by Bryone Peters for Readers' Favorite 5 Stars "... a fine story based on strong characters, first-person presentations, and encounters that neatly juxtapose action and intrigue ... a story about subterfuge, ploys, and plots that keeps the events fast-paced and the interpersonal revelations in line with not only past events but with the development of Nick's crew. Fans of military sci-fi and space opera will find Retribution an excellent saga of justice, redemption, and intrigue that paves the way for yet another in the series."
