Growing up in 1960's Brentwood Missouri was like catching lightning in a bottle. It was part Leave It To Beaver, part The Little Rascals and part Andy of Mayberry. It was a small town on the outskirts of a large city. We had access to major league sports like the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Hawks and the St. Louis Blues but we were still a small town that was self contained with our own police force, fire department, grocery stores, schools, churches, library and restaurants. Everything you needed in a two square mile area of St. Louis County. The kids that grew up there in the 1960's were different. We didn't have distractions and we used our imaginations, resourcefulness, critical thinking, negotiating skills and conflict resolution without adult interference. We had it all. We were the Luckiest Generation. This is about those times and the stories from some of the people that grew up there. Their memories, adventures and friendships that have stood the test of time.
